Things to keep in mind as you begin shopping

At Chantilly Blue we carry a wide variety of jeans from premium denim manufacturers. Each line has a distinctive shape, look and feel. We understand the nuances of each brand and have the knowledge and experience to fit you in premium denim.

The following items are some of the considerations we take into account when fitting you with the perfect pair of jeans. Remember, you don't have to be an expert. That's why we're here.

Evaluating your shape
Certain jeans complement certain body types. We can help you determine your body shape and find the right jeans that we fit your body and that you love to wear. Whether you've got a curvy hourglass figure (which often means your jeans gap at the back of the waistband), or you've got a long torso (which makes low rise jeans hover way too low, front and back), or a combination of any number of figure "issues," we can help you find a pair of jeans that really fits you.

Solving the problem areas in your jean fit
It's our job, and we take it very seriously. Don't worry. We can help you with this. All the jeans we sell are stretch denim. As such, they need to be snug when you first put them on. After wearing them for about 15-20 minutes, the fabric will relax and give, and they'll stay that way. After laundering, they will fit like the first time you tried them on, again relaxing after a few minutes of wearing. If you buy them fitting loosely in the dressing room, they'll be too big in a half hour, and look baggy. Seriously.

Determining what size is right for you
Premium denim manufacturers each have their own specifications for sizes and styles. We take one look or two and we can tell you what size in what jean is likely to fit and flatter. Often it's more than one.

Talking about inseam length
Know what shoes you'll wear with your jeans. Most women need their premium denim hemmed. If possible, bring a pair of shoes or boots with you, ones that you wear often.

Figuring out what type of jean will fill in the gap in your closet
Take an inventory of jeans that you have and wear. If you're not sure what you need, once we find the right fit, we often recommend going with a darker wash, as it's more versatile - it can be dressed up or down.

Determining if what you want is to dress up or hang out?
Some jeans are better for a dressier look and some are better suited for casual use. Before you choose new jeans have an idea of how you want wear this new pair. It will narrow your mission and make our time with you better spent.

Knowing the current trends, but only if you're comfortable with trend
Be aware of the current trends. Don't be afraid to venture outside your comfort zone. But if you're not the trendy type, fret not. We understand that too. Good fit never goes out of style. These days, we can wear denim practically anywhere: out to dinner, to the supermarket, to a movie. When your jeans fit and look great, you'll want to wear them everywhere, too!

Do you need a second opinion? Bring a friend...
Research shows that a second pair of eyes can be helpful when shopping. That being said, women benefit from taking a friend along when they shop. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes will see a subtle difference that we can't see ourselves. Also, a friend may coax you out of that comfort zone and help you choose something different from your norm. (We can be objective and supportive. Let us help you!)
